How I made this site

  1. Created a prototype in Sites, messed about with it until I was reasonably happy with it
  2. Decided I’d rather use WordPress
  3. Ran out of Codex usage, so asked ChatGPT to make me a theme based on the Sites design
  4. Still waiting for my five hours to count down, I asked ChatGPT to make me a plugin that created a Wiki Custom Post Type which I could link to by using [[example]]
  5. Asked ChatGPT who I should host it with and selected the cheapest with decent reviews
  6. Installed the theme which had no errors
  7. Installed the plugin which also had no errors
  8. Theme looked nothing like the prototype but I liked it better
  9. Got ChatGPT to upgrade the theme to enable the full Block Editor, still no errors (this is a damn sight more impressive than most of the plugins I’ve downloaded over the years)
  10. Customised my templates, patterns etc
  11. Five. Hours. Later.
  12. ChatGPT coached me through making an MCP plugin in Codex so I can edit the design and settings with prompts. I think we were talking at cross purposes! It wanted me to have wp-admin open in the Codex internal browser. If I can be bothered opening wp-admin I can be bothered changing things myself, I’ve only been using WordPress since version 1.2…
  13. Used up my five-hour allowance in 30 minutes. To be fair I was running three other projects at the same time on [[5.6 Sol]] because I was anticipating a reset
  14. Got ChatGPT to make me a lightweight analytics plugin
  15. Got ChatGPT to make me a plugin to enable random sorting of the Query Loop block – this is how the definitions on the homepage sidebar are shuffled each time
  16. Got ChatGPT to create a plugin for a TIL Custom Post Type
  17. Went to sleep!
